Impeachment: Sen. Pres. Bukola Saraki sends strong message to APC



Embattled Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, in Asaba, Delta state Capital, yesterday, said he was not in anyway bothered about the plans of All Progressive Congress (APC) senate members to impeach him.

The senate President who had a secret meeting with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa told reporters he is not loosing sleep over the impeachment threats from APC, rather encouraging them to channel their strength towards making sure that they deepen democratic ideals for the betterment of Nigerians.

Escorted by senator Dino Melaye, Peter Nwaoboshi and three others, Saraki said the mass defection from APC to Peoples Democracy Party(PDP), was due to the fact that true democracy is seriously threatened by the ruling party.

He told newsmen that he was in the state to discuss with Governor Okowa on how to move forward, adding that nothing will hinder his passionate efforts towards good governance in the country.

Saraki stated that no amount of political intimidation and security harassment would prevent the business of lamaking that would impact positively on the country. “Our ideas and visions on what we expect in a democratic setting were not met in APC, hence we left. It is not about myself but about democracy and Nigeria. I can assure you that very soon, every process will fizzle out as it should be,” he said
