De Gea drops biggest transfer hint to Real Madrid after winning United Player of the Year

United Goalkeeper, David De Gea has become the first player to bag player of the Year award four times at Manchester United.

The Spain International overtakes Cristiano Ronaldo, who he was previously tied on three victories with - completing a special double of prizes on the night for the Spaniard.

The Busby-named award, voted for by supporters of the club, went to De Gea for his continued heroics between the sticks for United over the past year.

But he was also recognised by his peers, as he took home the Players' Player of the Year.

Speaking on stage after receiving the Sir Matt Busby award, he said: “It is difficult to say with words what Manchester United means for me, and for anyone it is amazing to play for this club, for the fans, for the history, it is amazing to play for this club.

“It was a bit hard at the beginning, but I believe in myself, I train hard.

“I want to say thanks for everyone, I didn't expect to win just one and now I have four. Thanks for everything."

On his Players' Player award, he added: "I think it is special to receive this award from my team-mates, I love all of them.

"We are fighting for second place and we are in the [FA Cup] final, but we are Manchester United so it is not enough. We have to improve for next season."

This is a message to Real Madrid that the goal stopper is planing to continue at Old Trafford next season.
